Taylor Dempsey

A Los Angeles native, Taylor is interested in both the region’s history and its future as the city continues to grow and evolve. She brings to Next Architecture a collaborative attitude and an eagerness to learn from more experienced design professionals.

Taylor received her BA in Architecture and Community Design from the University of San Francisco, which focused on an introduction to architecture, community design, urban design, city planning and landscape design, with a strong emphasis on the social sciences and humanities.

Taylor most enjoys the people aspect of her role. Driven by the idea that we can go further together than apart, she is passionate about helping our clients’ visions become reality. She excels at organization and critical thinking, and brings an objective, yet balanced point of view to problem solving.  She gravitated to architecture because she’s most fulfilled by work with potential for cultural impact and endurance beyond her immediate involvement.

Previously, she worked as a multi-family housing Designer II and as a commercial and retail Designer I, with WDA in San Francisco, collaborating with teams on restaurant, office and consulate projects. As a designer, Taylor is passionate about projects that exhibit restraint, subtlety, and attentiveness through small details and materiality.

When away from the office you can find her enjoying the outdoors, working on her photography, listening to her long list of audiobooks or indulging her inner foodie
